Overview

Making parcel management simple for everyone.

PTT Kargomat makes sending and receiving parcels simple and reliable. As the sole designer at Rovenma — a B2B company producing parcel lockers for e-commerce and shipping — I owned the UI/UX of the lockers and, with PTTAVM, designed the Kargomat management system and the apps for couriers and end users.

“I should be able to track every state of the parcel locker — production, status, installation and maintenance.”

Seda, System Operator Manager

Main goals

Three audiences, one ecosystem.

  • Give PTTAVM one system to manage Kargomat locations, installations and deliveries.
  • Help couriers find addresses quickly when delivering to a Kargomat.
  • Keep customers satisfied at every step, from ordering to picking up.

Interviews

What every role needed.

I interviewed Kargomat users, PTTAVM couriers, Rovenma’s System Operator Manager and the maintenance team.

  • End users want to pick up at any hour, and find the nearest Kargomat fast.
  • The operator needs to track installations, full and empty lockers, and successful deliveries.
  • Maintenance needs to see which lockers need repair or installation.
  • Couriers need faster ways to identify locations.

Flows

Mapping every path through the system.

Separate flows for the locker itself, the end-user app, couriers and maintenance, plus the information architecture of the management system.

Design system

Gill Sans, PTT yellow and cyan, pixel-perfect icons.

A complete system covering typography, colour, desktop and mobile grids, icons, notifications, inputs, selectors, data visualisation, tables and modals — shared across the dashboard, apps and kiosk.

Final design

Dashboard, app and locker.

The management dashboard brings locations, users, utilisation, ratings, parcels and installations together; the mobile app guides people from sign-up to pickup; the locker touchscreen keeps every step big, linear and easy.
